how is it Mercedes and BMW can pass these but Audi cannot?

 

It's not a matter of passing. It's the fact that NHTSA wants separate cert for each sub models.

So, even though Audi has already crashed a few A6's and A6 avants, For RS6 Avant to FMVSS certified, Audi will have to supplied a few of these to be crashed, again, by these govt good for nothing folks.

And then there's the rest of the FMVSS cert process AFTER the crashed RS6 Avant were up to NHTSA' standards.

Audi looked at this cost and said F this.

BMW never brought the E34 M5 Touring, the E61 M5 Touring, and E91 335 wagon for the same reason. Aint woth the cost of FMVSS cert.

Of course, Audi could make the business decision that bringing these cool models will bolster their car enthusiast cred, but they won't.

To be honest I think the lambo V10TT still does it for me over a 4.0l V8 TT

its just not that special anymore... besides, those simple chip and filter 700HP probably won't be doable anymore!!
