Mild power bump and vastly upgraded transmission, will make the refreshed R8 a sure-fire winner
Our trusty Teamspeed Spies send us today a few shots of Audi's facelift R8. As you can see the spy pictures reveal the visual tweaks will be minor and appear to be contained to basically headlight and tail-lamp revisions. Considering the R8’s shape still looks very fresh and current, we are glad Audi hasn't radically altered one of our favorite cars.
The 4.2-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V10 engines will remain, but will feature lower emissions and more power, always a good combination in our book.
The best part of this report is that Audi will be scrapping the much criticized R tronic automated manual and will be replacing it with a dual-clutch, seven-speed S tronic transmission, rejoice!
A closer look behind the wheels reveals Audi's new "flower" style rotors as well.
Stepping inside the interior updates are very minor and they include updating the navigation and entertainment systems.
The Audi R8 facelift will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September.
