Well since all the pros/ cons have been covered I don't have much to add, but some numbers and pics:

Apr supercharger is definitely the way to go. Every other supercharged kit that has been made for the 4.2 hasn't come close to what apr's kit makes.
MTM- 530hp
PES- 520hp
APR- 590hp

Spinning all four tires in 2nd and chirping into 3rd is insane on an awd car, especially on a drag strip where they have laid down grip compound.

And if you're concerned a bit about room, import an Avant:

I personally love the negaro blue, but everyone has their prefference I guess:

You can't legally import an RS4 Avant.

Really? I've seen two in the states. I imagine it has to do with the no crash test ratings huh?

I won't be importing anything, as I could care less about the backseat room. The only person that will ever be in the back seat is my child, if and when that happens. I want this car purely because it sounds awesome, handles well, and will get me from A to B very, very fast. And the APR supercharger may be the way to go for me. I just need to get the hookup from someone once I get one.

Regarding the two RS4 Santa that you saw, post up the VIN's, I am sure the customs will be interested in talking to the owners.

People tried that with the S50b32 M3's, and the cars were deported. Yes, they can deport cars too.

The RS4 is an absolute beast. I have its little brother, the B7 S4.

These cars are very reliable. The only thing to look out for is the carbon build up. A simple cleaning ever year solves this problem.

You will not find a better factory seat than the Recaro in the B7 S/RS cars. They hold you in the seat great and are fine for 10+ hour road trips.

Also, AWD is great in bad weather.

I would look into downpipes and cat-back first. Talk with the guys at JH Motorsports. They are the best in the business when it comes to 4.2L Audis. They have S4's (not RS's) with stock engines down into 11.8's.

Also, these are heavy cars so I would look into getting some sway bars to control body roll. I would get the Hotchkis RS4 bars and Stern Rear Sway bar end links. The rear bar is so still it breaks the factory end links.

If you really want some handling look at Stasis or KW V3's. I have the KW's and they are great. Either coilover system will eliminate the problematic DRC system in RS Cars.

Alright stupid question from an audi S/RS noob. I am interested in getting a RS4 08' or a S4 '10....both are similarly priced with the S obviously being a little less expensive. Which would you get? And why....I've heard the new S4 can be chipped and gain tremendous HP but the sound of that R8 engine makes me have an endless smile......I appreciate advice but mostly from owners(1st hand) thanks guys!
