As far as the interior, Audi does do those well as anyone in the industry regardless of model.
That's funny because I always saw Benz taxi cabs in Germany. I was at the A8 launch in Atlanta and we compared the 7 Series, S- Class, A8, and Lexus. The Audi and BMW were light years ahead of the S-Class in driving dynamics.
It's sad because the Lexus felt just as good as the Benz on the autocross course...

You're a GSM at a Porsche store?? I guess you forget the Audi and Porsche are on the same team and will most likely be sharing technology in the next decade.

Ask any truck driver in the tri-state which luxury car company they tow the most, and I bet they will tell you Audi.

Great cars to drive, headache to own. (personal experience)

Is this where we talk about shitty electrical problems that MBs had in early 2000's? Plenty of those are still on the road. I had to pick up my ex from the dealer a few times too. Funny thing is, she had no problem switching to Audi.

On a personal note, most of MB cars have "older people" vibe, I simply wouldn't get one just because of that. Audis are more appealing to me

I never said Audi was terrible brand, I just stated a bit of information I gathered from people that I know who work in the business (towing, dealer service reps, german car auto-repair specialist, etc..). Audi also had its fair share of electrical issues with the B6 A4 as well, and I know plenty of people who swear by their cars and some that say they will never go back.

Personally I always felt the BMW coupes and the Audi A4s where guido chick cars, but thats because thats all they drive here. Again that depends on demographic "old vs young" doesn't say much if you live in a place like say Florida where 90% of people are old lol. Besides I would consider Lexus and Caddy to be more of an 'older' people brand then say MB.

Brand loyalty is fine but often misguided. I consider myself loyal to the Germans so I rarely take sides with the issue, however, as a current MB owner at the moment I feel like they always get a bad rep among enthusiasts for no real reason (unless then owned one between the years 2000-2008, then I can understand their disappointment lol).

All that being said I love all 3 brands, owned all 3 brands, and would probably continue to do so in the future because they all offer something different. My favorite car is still currently the R8 though.

LOL, finally someone else is with me on this. I have seen quite a few posts of him and most are pretty the way it was in this thread.

My family spread out from East to West, South to North and we drive so many different brands. Each holds its own. I like all 3 brands but we all must admit the progress Audi has been making since 2002. Mercedes and BMW were lossing their stand quite quickly, and recently, putting tremendous amount of effort getting their acts together. This kind of competition benefit us, the owners greatly. Persnally, the new 7 blows everything out of the way. I recently got some seat time behind the new A8. It's good with tons of gadgets but the design defintely will take sometimes to adjust to.

The A8 is a great car, and the interior may have the S550 beat, but in terms of exterior looks, the S550 is a lot 'prettier'

Beating the S-class on an autocross course is nothing. Mercedes does not care about that on this model. In fact they will probably be happy with that result.
And the fact that you like that rank/stat, means the S-Class is probably not for you. If you like driving, you will get the 7 or A8. If you want to ride in a cloud, get the S.
