• December 2010 marks the best fourth quarter in Audi of America history, leading to all-time U.S. sales record topping 100,000 vehicles for the first time
Mercedes is bitch slapping Audi.
HIGHEST SALES MONTH FOR THE YEAR AT 21,469 BRINGS
MERCEDES-BENZ TO AN 18 PERCENT INCREASE FOR 2010
MONTVALE, N.J. – Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) reported December sales of 21,469 vehicles, its
highest monthly volume of the year, bringing the company’s 2010 total to 225,007, an increase of 18%
over 2009.
Ernst Lieb, president and CEO of MBUSA said: “Despite the challenges of a slow recovery, we
see good indicators in terms of our sales volume throughout the model range. This is certainly due in
large part to the customer-directed efforts we’ve undertaken here at MBUSA over the past few years and
the extraordinary commitment of our retail network to provide an unmatched ownership experience. As
virtually all third-party indicators show, customers are confident about the Mercedes-Benz brand and we
think that will translate to even stronger momentum going forward.”
The 9th generation E-Class was the volume leader for both the month and year, with December
sales of 5,638, bringing its annual volume to 60,922 – a 41.4 % increase over its volume in 2009. The CClass
– the gateway to the Mercedes-Benz brand for younger and first-time Mercedes-Benz buyers –
followed with monthly sales of 4,924 and a yearly total of 58,785, a 12.1 % increase over last. Rounding
out the top three volume lines was the popular M-Class SUV which posted monthly sales of 3,783
bringing its annual volume to 29,698, a 15.1 % increase over last year.
Sales at the high end continued strong for 2010 with the commanding G-Class up 38.8 % for the
year and the flagship S-Class sedan up 21.5 %. The company sold 48 of its top-of-the-line supercar - the
SLS AMG – in December, bringing its annual total to 499.
- more -
Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold
6,338 vehicles in December, up 24.3 % for the month, bringing the annual total to 80,698, up 12.3 % over
2009.

I have an S car. It simply an S65. Sorry but that's all I can compare it to. An S class versus A8. Nothing more.

I owned the recent body style s8 and loved the car. Also loved my 2004 RS6. I was very eager to test drive this recent A8 but was not that impressed. Not that the car was bad in any way, it just did not feel like the same typical leap forward from 1 generation to the next, just felt pretty similar to the last generation despite the new technology and styling. I will still look forward to testing out the new s8 when it arrives, but I was not that impressed with this new car. So instead of waiting for the s8 went with an AWD Alpina b7 instead.

). /rant anyways, you and s4c got me all riled up because I hate when people get haughty over their car. Buy them because you love them, not to have a status symbol. Someone in their S class may look over and see mark in his mini and snicker only to have their doors blown off by him the next day in his CGT

So, let me get this straight. They've managed to not only alienate and piss off potential buyers of the A8, they've also managed to recreate a Buick advertisement?
((((((( Stern glare from S Class owners))))))
Good going Audi, you fvcking retards!!! Enjoy your lackluster sales and loytalty. Too bad AUDI has NO CLUE how to maintain a loyal following such as the S Class owners.

Also, don't you work for Porsche? Doesn'tt Audi own a large portion of Porsche by now?
Here is a lesson to be learned: you don't go into an Audi forum/subforum and talk trash about Audi.

I really don't see the problem with the Ad but I just don't like it. I think this car is absolutely awesome and as of now blows the hell out of the S-class. I think the new 7 series blows the S-class away. With that said it's not exactly a fair comparo as the current S-class has been out for a few years iirc.
We'll see where MB goes with it but I'm not all to optimistic. I think the initial photos of the CLS look like shit and I expect the S to follow suit.

I didn't like the new A8 that much even though I was a big fan of the previous model. What I really hated though was that they used the old engine and will replace it with a newer one next year. Good luck with the depreciation!

When did this forum become a brand whoring fan boi site for 16 year olds? Most of whom have clearly never even been to Germany, which just so happens to be the most MB infested taxi country in the world.
The biggest problems I see with this ad, as an A8 D3 owner mind you, is that they compared it to a white S-class AMG, which may very well be the most gorgeous car in its class and then they cut to a photo of the least flattering part of the new '8. But seeing as the S in AMG form, as proven by this thread, is driven mostly by ballbagging twunt rags ... so clearly I will never buy one.
