Are V10 R8's holding value?

I am tossing the idea around of picking up an R8 V10 as a daily but was wondering if they holding their value or has the hype died down?

I say they are holding their value pretty well. A lot better then the V8s did. Kudos to you for wanting to DD a R8.

i heard they are making spyders only. all coupes are order to build. if so, v10 coupes will be more rare and should hold well.

Why would an R8 as a DD be a surprise? Supposedly it's the most livable supercar (i.e. 911-ish). Of course that doesn't make it any less sweet. Ask Jamie - IIRC he's got a V10 R8 as his daily.

In my neck of the woods they are plummeting in value. New they were $300,000 and an example that is 1 year old with 3000 miles is reselling for $220,000.

I treat them the same as any expensive BMW or Mercedes.

Don't expect lossing any less than 30% after 1st year if you buy new (which is standard for many cars). Used price seems much higher than their competitors (maserati GT or aston martin vantage) but remember new loaded V8 new is around 150k. Used are going for around $100k (you can find quite a few for less). V10 is pretty new to the market, hence the lower supply. A new loaded one is around 170-180k. Used ones are going for around 140-150k. I would say picking a used V8 and use it everyday for the next 2-3 years. You will definitely can unload the car for around 60-70k easily. R8 is still considered exotic, their used price won't go any lower than that.

Wow. I was figuring about a 10-15k hit in one year on a $164k window car but if the spiders are doing that bad, I might just pass and find something used.
