Breaking: Audi R8 GT goes on a diet and gets more power

Doesn't do it for me at all. The side profile looks too fussy, they have spoilt its original good looks. The price is very high for an audi, i dont think limited volume is enough to stop this from dropping, there are too many cars at this price relating to customers.
Its also heavy still, thought they could have done better than this. Even if they changed to Rwd drey would only save about 80-100kgs (if like the gallardo system) and that not great for this sort of car. The paddles are tiny and dont look like ergonomic tools for trackday fun.
All this leads me to think its more gimmicky and not a serious attempt by Audi. Of course i reserve judgment, but I'm not excited.

^^ "Audi of America has not yet confirmed U.S. plans, but the car is likely to appear here in spring 2011 as a 2011 model."

My thoughts exactly. I saw a gorgeous V10 in Daytona Gray, CF sideblades, etc. at my local dealer. I was >< this close to going for it but it was R-Tronic. It's a shame.
