From WCF - Audi R8 V10 Clubsport spied? - Worldcarfans
A Clubsport version of the R8 V10? Why not?
This R8 was spotting doing a few laps around the track at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany. What else could that large, fixed rear wing and those little flaps at each end of the front bumper mean? Well, it could mean a lot of things, such as a new aerodynamic package.
But let us imagine for a moment that this is a Clubsport prototype intended to put a few added touches of civilized dress around the monstrous heart that beats beneath the bonnet of the R8 V10. A Clubsport version of the R8 V10 would also shed some weight, about 100 to 150 kilograms, and rid itself of the all-wheel drive system.
Inspiration could be had from fellow VW brand Lamborghini, with its Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboa. Turning the R8 V10 into a true racer, capable of incredible aerodynamically and traction-enhanced lap times around that very Nürburgring track. Yes, and maybe they can add some kind of snooze function to it, so that when taking the car onto the public roads the R8 doesn't fall asleep from all the boredom.

I think the R8 V10 and the Gallardo appeal to different folks. IMO, the Audi is a bit more subdued looking, has a nicer interior and perhaps is not quite as sporty as the Lambo. The Lambo on the other hand screams out for attention and is all business. So if you're not looking for too much attention but still want a kick ass V10 sports car, then the Audi is the way to go.

Edit: I'm not trying to say Audi is a bad car either. There is just too much sharing of main components.

According to Will on our teamspeed facebook page :
Teamspeed.com | Facebook
"Test version was (secretly) at Porsche's N.A. driving school at Barber Motorsports near Birmingham, AL last week. Very hot performer even in test-tune and was holding even with new 911 GT 3s in every aspect on that tight track."
