Guys, was at the national Audi driver international at Castle Combe (UK) this w/end, was following these young dudes in their RS4. I was directly behind them in paddock waiting to go out, they were revvin the crap out of it and mates taking loads of pics etc..

They ripped off on cold tyres giving it the max from the outset relying on the quattro to sort it all out. Unfortunately it didnt, i was about 100m's behind them when they span on first lap, theywere lucky, no damage! I cruised past and carried on, about 2 laps later tho, red track beacons started flashing, i then saw why....

Exactly the same spot as their first incident, only not so lucky this time. These are some pics a guy from another forum got..








Rumour has it, it was a loan car as well from audi....that'll definately be NO insurance then! poor poor guys...

 

Too bad on such a nice car! The way you describe it I'm glad the incident happened on the race track and not in public roads.

 

Ouch, that RS4 wagon is sweet.

 

How the hell do you get a loaner RS4?? Seems hard to imagine.

Really sucks that that car was destroyed, love avants.

What was the corner sequence leading to the crash? ie: how did it happen?

 

Looks like he overcorrected and spun on the grass... I'd like to see video (well, actually, I don't want to see it - it's painful enough as it is).
