My New Chaparral 216 SSi

The wife and I decided it was time to hit the water this year after using a friends boat all last summer. So, we picked up a '11 Chaparral 216 SSi w/ a Volvo 5.0L GXi V8. We're taking delivery today but here are some shots from the test run. We're adding a wakeboard tower which should arrive in a couple of weeks. If you've got any tips for this boating newb fire away.

Congrats on the new boat. Very sleek, and a great boat if it's your first.

Remember to bring the fenders back in when you leave the dock. People that leave them out scare me because one of two things is happening: 1. They are completely unaware of what's going on around them, or 2. They are afraid of bumping into stuff.

Just make sure to boat safely. Boating magazine always has great tips btw.

Thanks for the tip. We took delivery today and only used the fenders when tying her up. Here's a post-maiden voyage shot and her getting dry docked.

Congrats. Family has has an '07 220 SSi, great boat. You'll love it!

For starters I recommended getting a HydroHoist and a nice after-market cover, the one that comes with it tears easily.

We're dry docking it at a local marina so we don't need a lift just yet. The cover is on our list. Thanks!
