There is LOTS of info on that in the books "Blue Thunder" and "Speed Kills"
Drug smugglers brought boats from Aronow but the buyers never told them they were smugglers, so he built them a boat. Then later, he entered a deal with USA Racing to built a number of offshore catamarans for the U.S. customs, called "Blue Thunders". Then somewhere along the line, he got murdered in front of Fort Apache Marina. It was Bobby Young who was greatly involved in his murder.

 

Great pictures. Brings back memories. I remember going to that Cigarette factory all the time. Right across the street was TNT Marine, which is now located at 135th Street and US-1. Some of those are actually not so old. Probably 1998-2000. I used to go to school with Don's son.

The only place left there is Magnum Marine. It's run by a very nice lady and family friend Katrin Theodoli and her son.
