Looks like a sliver waiting to happen to me, I guess i am just used to seeing all of the old woodies, and the new retro styled ones with a high gloss (very slippery) finish

Oiling or paiting teak can't really be considered an option. Then just might as well go with oregon pine or similar. But it still looks a little "raw" IMO

I hate to disagree, but oil is probably the most common finish on teak. The wood boats I see most often are Mahogony with a polymer finish. I dont know what was used as a finish prior to urethanes, possibly oil as well, I know the older wooden boats have to be filled with water and you wait untill water stops running out of them which indicates the wood has swelled and sealed before you could launch them.

Here in Scandinavia we rarely treat modern teak decks. Leaving the pores exposed gives it a natural finish - but obviously if you're in the Med or in a place with strong sun it'll quickly loose it's finish.

Older wooden boats here (ie early/mid 1900) still go through that painful experience (sink 'em, pump 'em and use 'em) every year. They need a lot fo attention but it's worth it

Great looking boat. I like the contrast between the teak and black.
