Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show Anyone?
Hello! I thought TeamSpeed.com would like to see what will be new at Cigarette at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. Stop by floating dock H-I behind Bahia Mar! There will be a full line up, featuring these brand new models!
New boats models are not a sign of “mid-life crisis” for the 40-year old Cigarette—there are no gray hairs here—just the enduring Cigarette iconic good looks with pure performance and reliability. Each Cigarette shows the same commitment to customer satisfaction, quality construction, operation and service—all with a painstaking eye for detail, from the inside to the outside, from rigging and instrumentation, to upholstery and paint.
All the boats below can be seen on floating dock H-I behind Bahia Mar Thursday, October 29-Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.
Top Fish Open
The 2009 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show marks the next evolution of the Cigarette center console Top fish line—the Top Fish Open. To accommodate the needs of a boater who prefers open space to the cuddy cabin, the new 39 Top Fish offers the flexibility of an open bow with options for fishing, eating, seating and sunning. The bench aft and cockpit seating remain, as does the full stand-up head, but more wrap-around seating is added to the front. Ample storage is available and an option for a table or sun pad will be offered. But the main focus of this Top Fish Open is to be ready for a boat-load of family, friends, fishing and fun.
The 39 Top Fish Open has a fiberglass frame helm station covering a drawer refrigerator while the open bench seating leaves room for storage underneath. The anodized frame supports a durable fiberglass T-Top. There are options for stern seating with or without a live fish well. The show model is painted in Mercedes AMG Obsidian black metallic with a stylized silver logo. White upholstery with a red accent stripe keeps the boat clean looking and easy to maintain while the four Mercury Verados ensure that you’ll reach your favorite fishing spot smoothly, comfortably and in record time!
Top Fish Cuddy
Impeccable attention was paid to creating this new mold back in 2006 which broadened the Cigarette beam, yet did not compromise the look, lines or ride of the boat. Plus, a full stand-up head was built into the cockpit to add comfort and convenience for all onboard. The cuddy model shown is painted in pearl blue with white and silver accents; it has stand up bolsters with drop-down seats and will be heading to St. Maarten to do some Caribbean fishing soon. It’s 3 Mercury Verado engines can carry a full load of passengers and fuel and still reach the high 60’s and will make it a stand-out island hopper.
Whether you are a serious angler or a recreational fisherman, the Top Fish Open and Top Fish Cuddy have all the rod and bait holders, coolers, fish lockers, storage--and performance needed for a successful and enjoyable day on the water.

The Grand Sport II
For 2009, the Grand Sport II offers the same roomy and feature-laden cockpit, cabin and large sun pad as the original Grand Sport, but it also has a new deck and aerodynamic styling that makes it ever-more a Cigarette. The original Grand Sport was created in 2007 to offer a bit of pampering to the Cigarette customer who wanted a little more room and luxury in his performance boating. The Baby Boomers and many Cigarette loyalists in the international markets had achieved a level to acquire what they wanted—and that was everything! So Cigarette delivered. The 49 Grand Sport—with an expanded 10’ beam, a full berth and head/shower and all the creature comforts in the detailed cabin, this “grand” Cigarette could accommodate more people, more accessories, more storage and more power and propulsion options.
While maintaining the 6’ head room in the cabin—a great attraction for taller customers—the GS II deck has been raised for ease of movement in and out of the boat and the new Cigarette windscreen offers excellent visibility and wind-protection. The 49’ boat’s handling is enhanced by its big power options, and the new tooling for the Arneson Surface Drives was an excellent fit for the Cummins Quantum Series Diesel 715 twin engines. These Mercury SmartCraft™ enabled, turbocharged and sea water cooled powerplants, provide reduced drag, quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy of the drive package, this Cigarette holds true to its performance heritage.
The extended transom of the Grand Sport creates a large sunbathing pad, especially popular when relaxing or entertaining and also provides easy access to the boat from the dock. Various seating options can be customized for boating preferences, but comfort, top-quality upholstery, and room to move about the boat remain Cigarette staples of design. Newly added features include a Cigarette-designed and custom-made muffler exhaust system and a Cummin Onan 5 KW Generator which complete a powerfully and thoughtfully designed powerboat.
The paint scheme of the Grand Sport II was specially designed with official Ferrari paints featuring Nero Daytona Black metallic, accented with Grigio Ingrid gold metallic and highlights of Ferrari Fiorano Rosso metallic red in the #1 logo. David Hunter of Invisions opted for simplicity, allowing “the lines of the boat to be the design” as he extended the curves of the sleek, sweeping hull with the gleaming colors.
