Post Fountain Shines at the World Championships

Fountain Powerboats had another banner year on the racecourse, wrapping up World Championships on the Super Boat International tour.

At the World Championships in Key West, Fla., Fountain won all five classes that its boats entered in November. The impressive showing was led by David Knight and Michael Seebold in the Super Vee Unlimited with Shogren Performance Marine. The duo won all three races to repeat as champions.

Finishing second in the class was King of Shaves/Fountain Worldwide, fresh off their P1 championship in Europe. Despite having half the horsepower of the Shogren Performance Marine boat, Craig Wilson and James Sheppard took second place in every race in the six-boat class.

In the competitive Super Vee class, Fountain rivals Miccosukee and Yachts International squared off. The Yachts team of Michel Karsenti and Serge Allegre had already won the national championship but were looking to defend their 2007 World Championship.

Miccosukee had too much averaging better than 92 mph and winning two of three races. With Predator finishing third, Fountain took all three spots on the podiums.

Fountain posted other wins in Key West including AMF Offshore Racing (Factory 1), Cintron (Manufacturer 1) and Wazzup (Manufacturer 2).

“I’m very proud of all the teams and their dominating performance,” said Reggie Fountain, CEO of Fountain Powerboats. “They took the top spots in every class, and showed without a doubt that our boats are the fastest in the world.”
