I've been toying with the idea of buying a sports bike again...not sure if i can trust myself and especially other drivers - i used to zip around London like an absolute loony!
Haven't been on a sports bike since i was 18, would love to pick up an Aprilia RSV Mille or Ducati, i haven't ridden the Indian in almost 9 months...
Ara, hows insurance on sports bikes out here?

Do it Josh! Insurance is not bad at all. I think I pay about $650/year on my R1. I think AAA has the best rates around here for bikes. Let me know which Ducati. I get some decent deals from Pro Italia.

I grew up on the Aprilia RS's - started with an RS50 then moved on to the 125 and 250. The Mille was my dream bike with the MV Agusta back then. I haven't really followed sports bikes since.
I would look at the latest gen. Ducati's or the 998, though i'm not sure about reliability on the 998's?

No reason to get a 998. The 1098 and 848 have come a long way since the 998. Check out the white 848. That is a beauty. I was at an Aprilia dealer on Sunday and saw some sort of a race replica RSV-1000R. Good looking bike, but they are starting to look dated and heavy. Can't go wrong with an MV either.

Spent a few hours last night looking at the latest and greatest...nothing really excites me tbh.
I've always been a fan of the Gixxer 750 but i'd like something unique, which leaves me either with a Duc, Aprilia, Triumph, MV or Ducati.
Quick & Random thoughts:
The Aprilia's i've seen are all looking heavy and dated, the older Ducati's (999, 749) are fugly, the newer ones too expensive. Triumph still aren't at the top of the game and the MV's are still gorgeous.

Ha!
I had a Piaggio Typhoon 125 scooter which was blindingly fast! Sold it with about 1400 miles as the thing was terrifying over manholes in London (it had TINY wheels so if you leaned around a corner and happened to go over one and it was raining boy oh boy were you in for a slide).
