Buell Gets Funded, Building new Sportbike

Autoblog is reporting that Erik Buell just received $20Mil in funding, and is ready to announce a new line of street bikes in the coming months. As a previous Buell customer (Blast and XB9) I'm psyched.

Buell fueled with $20M investment, plans $20K streetbike

Looks pretty good. I dont like the wimpy little exhaust, the front end or the terribly uncomfortable looking seat. I do really like those mirrors though.

That's a good point about the exhaust ... I wonder if it's a 2-stroker?

Single rotor up front, what looks like 2 stroke exhaust ... wtf. I DIG.

That's awesome news. I've always liked Buells and EB definitely knows his shit. This bike should be fantastic.

BTW -- if you click through, you'll see the bike pictured is an 1190cc V-twin (apparently an upgraded version of the 1125 from his last production bike).

True, but Autoblog has gotten pictures and labels wrong in the past ... this is gonna be good.

So.... They're making 100 of them and the price is $39,999. Add $4,000 and you get the "carbon package".

Yeah, that price seems a little insane. But I think the 'big' news here is the future models to come out -- based off of this bike. Those are reported to be in the $20,000 price range (still a little insane IMO). But, these look like awesome bikes, nonetheless.
