Did this road become suddenly famous after Leno's SLS test ?

 

No that was a different part. This has been a gathering point for decades, it was famously shut down in the 80s because of all the motorcyclists raging up and down. I think it's gotten worse lately because of the photographers...and the internet.

Shortly after I moved here my motorcycle was dropped off by the movers. I rode it down Sunset and got pulled over by one of Beverly Hills' finest 2-wheelers. He saw my Louisiana plates / license and started telling me about this road and the Rock Store...
