B.m.w K1300r

As I said in our PM exchange, I haven't ridden a K1300, but I can't see it being a hooligan bike like the Speed Triple or Duc' Streetfighter can be.
It's still big, has an outrageously long wheelbase and is geared towards comfort. I see it as a naked highway cruiser. A fast one for sure. I just don't think it's going to be much of a playful bike, despite the sizeable hp figures. Not the bike I'd see myself coming into a corner, backing it in and wheelying out of ...
Magazines say the steering feel is somewhat odd, I guess one needs to ride it to really know.
If I get my hands on one I'll let you know.

Thank you for taking the time to both PM and post...
I used to ride CBRs and GSXRs but now I own two Harleys (2003 Springer 100Anny and a stage four StreetBob) so I am looking for someting comfy that I might ship to Spain to do a Euro ride on next summer. The "...coming into a corner, backing it in and wheelying out of..." days are behind me know
Edit: A friend is trying to get me to take one of these...

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!
I have been lusting after a Griso forever, and that LE is just so damn gorgeous!
This being said, a K1300 sounds like the perfect bike for what you just described. Low maintenance, comfy, capable and still most likely manages to be fun somehow.
Ah! You never know when the urge to have fun comes up!!!
I was riding with a guy on a GS1150 Adventure, good rider, very reasonable all around.
We're cruising along a nice road, just a great relaxed pace ... and in some corner, he just flies by me on the outside, pegs stand and luggage scraping and lofts the front end on the hump just after. Waits for me after "did you see that? ahahahahaha it was awesome, wasn't it?"

Coming from a H-D?

The new 8V Griso churns out 110hp and as many torques as a Freemason convention! Heck, even the old 4V is not "very much underpowered". It's not a 200mph bike obviously, but it's still plenty. A buddy has a 95hp HyperMotard and it's everything but slow!
Clearly it's less of a highway monster than the K1300, but to ride around those twisty spanish backroads and the occasional trip to seaside restaurant, I honestly can't think of many bikes I'd rather be on than a Griso LE. It's just picture perfect in my mind ...
But I'm biased as I love that bike.
