UPDATE 5.38pm: MOTORCYCLE racer Judd Greedy was killed in a multi-bike accident in the opening laps of the Australian Supersport Championship yesterday.
Media reports named the rider as 28-year-old Judd Greedy of the Sunshine Coast, originally of Maitland in the Hunter region of NSW.

He was mourned today by friends and colleagues of the Sunshine Coast motorcycling fraternity who described him as a court jester of the motorcycle world.

His friend and employer Jaime Muggeridge of the Sunstate Motorcycle Store in Maroochydore, QLD, said Greedy was well-known as a personality-plus figure both at work and through the wider industry.

"He was the court jester, just a very funny bloke," Mr Muggeridge said.

Greedy headed up finance and administration for the four years he worked for Muggeridge and struck up friendships with customers, suppliers and anyone else connected with the motorcycling fraternity.

"He touched a lot of people in the time he worked here," Mr Muggeridge said.

"I was friends with him for about eight years and he worked for us for about four years."
The fatal accident led to the abandonment of all racing at the second round of the Australian Superbike Championship.
Tasmania Police confirmed only that a 28-year-old rider had died in the incident, which took place on the third lap of the race.
As the packed field exited the tight bus-stop section that leads on to the main straight of the 2.4km Symmons Plains circuit, the leading rider lost control of his motorcycle.
Two riders in the middle of the pack were unable to avoid the fallen bike and rider, one of the bikes exploding in a fireball as its fuel tank ignited on impact.
Greedy was treated by medical personnel but died at the scene, with a second rider transported to Launceston Hospital.
The third rider escaped serious injury.
No names have been released by Tasmania Police or Motorcycling Australia, the sport's governing body.
Reigning Australian Superbike champion Glenn Allerton, who had qualified in pole position for the later Superbike race, said Greedy was a great friend and a potential champion this year.
"He was a good friend of mine, I've known him for a long time and really a great guy. My thoughts are with his family. He'd been doing really well this year. I think he was tied on points maybe for the championship lead," he told the ABC.
Allerton said the spot on the track where the accident happened was a tricky one.
"That part of the track is quite challenging as you're trying to get hard on the throttle for the run down the straight," he said.
"If you're in a group of riders then you don't get much time to react if there's an incident in front of you.
"Other tracks have similar sections like that too - it's not just something unique to this circuit."
News of Greedy's death had spread by Sunday evening, with many tributes appearing on the rider's Facebook social networking profile.
Greedy's sister Elissa wrote: "I was blessed in every sense of the word to have you as my brother, i love you so much and i will truely (sic) miss you ... I would give anything to have you back bro, all my love, Liss xxx".
A meeting of riders contesting all five national championship classes at the Symmons Plains round was called by senior race officials and Motorcycling Australia, with clerk of the course Tom Williams agreeing to abandon the meeting following a rider vote.
Race officials had earlier made the decision that the event would proceed with a modified schedule, but the majority of riders present at the meeting decided they would take no further part if the race program continued.
The next round of the seven-round Australian Superbike Championship is at Queensland Raceway at Ipswich on May 29-31.
