Ducati Multistrada

I'm interested in the Multistrada, wondering if anyone here has some experience with it.

It's an older platform but generally a good bike. There are a few other bikes in the same class which are newer and better.

Triumph Tiger is probably better on-road and the BMW GS and KTM 990 are probably both better off-road. What do you plan on doing with it?

Ride on weekends within a 100 miles radius (not offroad).

I've ridden both the GS and the Multistrada. If you have no intention of going offroad, then the MS is a great choice. If you plan on logging more seat time than 100 miles at a time, look seriously at the GS. You also might want to consider the new 800GS.

I'd go for the Tiger in that situation; the MS would be suited, but it's an older design.

Do your homework on regular maintenance on the Multistrada. It may be a bit more than you expect.

I always liked the Yamaha FZ1...These things will run forever (they run a bombproof R1 engine). They also score some solid reviews when the major Brit mags test them.
