Leaked Meta Data Reveals 2015 Corvette Z06 Will have 620hp and 650 lb.-ft. of Torque

By now most know the highly anticipated 2015 Corvette Z06 will be revealed next week at the Detroit Auto Show. We can't be certain this "leak" wasn't intentional but we are giddy it happened regardless. The website for the reveal doesn't give away anything we didn't already know, but the meta data has leaked that the Z06 will have 620 horsepower and 650 pound feet of torque.

A keen Jalopnik reader pointed out, if you Google the search string "2015 Corvette Z06 supercar reveal," the website meta data for the launch site reveals the power figures in the newest super Corvette. Excited yet?

GM Released this info the other day:

The 2015 Corvette Z06 and the all-new C7.R represent the next evolution in the Corvette Stingray, the industry’s most awarded car in 2013. Continuing the momentum, the reveal of the Z06 and the C7.R will be live streamed on Monday, January 13 during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The live stream will be available at chevy.com/Z06reveal beginning at 9:30 a.m. EST with a special event leading into the press conference, which begins at 10 a.m. EST in the Chevrolet Exhibit at COBO Hall.

I was expecting around 580hp. 620hp is insane!
Watch out 458S, Turbo S and 12C!

 

If that's true then the ZR1 will be the neighborhood of 700hp.

I heard they weren't releasing a C7 ZR1?

 

Yeah as of right now GM has no plan of making a ZR1 version, although I am sure there will be a mid life cycle performance boost.

I have already seen images of the Z06 and let me tell you it looked badass!Super aggressive and much wider then the standard c7 Can't say much since im on an NDA but you guys won't be disappointing

 

Damn that's a lot. Let's hope it's more manageable than the last generation ZR1though. This is a lot of rear-wheel power to control.
