Whats there to be suprised about? A car with 160 more HP and a boat load more torque with sticky tires and a mere 100 lb weight deficit BARELY got a lower time around the track.
I'd say give the GMG car 10-15 more hp and it would win

And that was just a modified C5 Z06, not the new C6 Z06.
I've owned a really bad a$$ C5 Z06 totally set up for the track by L.G.Motorports... it's a strong track car but no way would beat a 997 cup car. A vette with a supercharger is going to heat soak pretty rapidly so if this was let's say a 10 lap race there would be instantly a different result. My vette was N/A (only around 500hp, and wasn't close to costing $98k) so I never faced these problems. All said and done, I was only 3/10's of second faster a lap on a 3.51 mile road course in my GT3 over my modified C5 Z06.
