Here's what I've gathered. The base Viper will not have the leather covered dash but it will still have the stitching. The srt is about 95lb lighter than the gts as well. I believe the two will have different wheel styles as well with the srt getting 5 spokes as standard. Rumor is that the base will start under 100k and the gts will top out at 137k. Who knows though?

Never thought I'd seriously consider buying a viper - but I am. Lol.

 

OMG I think I'm in love. They really did a great job with this car. The interior is finally nice. I hated the old interior, and IMO all the interiors on American cars have sucked, I'm glad they finally did something nice and worthy of such a car.

Always like the old Vipers, but I would have never considered owning one. This one on the other hand is amazing.

 

I have never been a fan of the Viper, but this thing is insane. I'm so glad Dodge built it. The styling is perfect, it's more modern but still an animal. I love the hood with the air intakes and outlets. 640 horsepower and 600 torque, with a good old manual. They hit the nail on the head with this one, and offering two models is also a smart plan.

But the best part of this release isn't the car: it's going to be Chevy's response. We now have a muscle car war and super car war in America, and I couldn't be happier.

 

Am I really the only one thinking it's fugly? Some sort of old melted RX7 with terrible headlights and tail stolen from a Maser?

 

I'm ordering one of these for myself and a 2013 PP GT500 for my brother and waiting...

America hasn't put the automotive world on check like this since the Z06 came out in 2005/2006. (Z06 was a little bit bigger of a deal but that's being picky...)

You mean in 2001? Unless you meant the C6 Z06 exclusively.

So is the reg viper targeted at the Z06 and the GTS targeted at the ZR1?

I see the GT tail lights for sure. But I do think it looks good, and they knocked it out of the park with the interior. Nice to finally see an American mfg step up their game, blows the shitbag Corvette interiors out of the water, include the ZR1 (leather can't fix a garbage design)
The 06 z06 was on a whole other level than the 01 - probably just means the C6 gen cars. I'm not wild about them but jeeeeeebus you can't go faster around a track for much cheaper than that
