I guess it has a very small "cornering limit". Other cars warn you when you reach the limit. The viper gives you higher maximum grip but bites you when you go further!

They're easy to drive in general. They're challenging to drive fast on a track, and they do not forgive mistakes. Many people are very intimidated by the car given its huge speed, power and complete lack of driver aids.

It takes some grit to push a Viper to and past its limit, but once you figure the car out, it's a pussycat.
