Same goes with the new record. Those are the only 2 times dodge has sent an ACR to the ring. Nissan, Porsche, and Lexus on the other hand have been back and forth at the ring for years with their flagships. Nissan even commented about their car being designed at the ring. They easily have 100s of laps on it with drivers familiar with the car and very familiar with the track. That is a HUGE advantage. It's no secret.
Well if that's the case, then that is one hell of a lap time! That driver is extremely talented considering he can control that beast.

That's all just talk, I know the driver who set the record.

It's just a marketing talk, all bullshit. It was the same driver as back in 2008 and he had driven this car for years and years until he set this record time...

Typical American to claim the record and shout it out loud so the whole world knows it was an american car. Blahblah it was so easy, etcetc

^seriously, do you intentionally try to piss people off with your comments. If I remember correctly, you were the one who thought the Somali pirates who killed a bunch of innocent people had some fascinating stories to tell. You are a class act pal.

Also, I call BS that you know the driver that set the record.

Wow typical eurotrash know nothing comment.

Like I posted in the other thread, while Tom Coronel was driving one of the cars, he did not set the record, Dominik Farnbacher did.

Angry much? lol

Regardless of any politics that may or may not be behind this, that is an extremely fast lap time. That is not debatable. The car and driver deserve some recognition.

Oh, and... FYI, Dominik Farnbacher (the guy who set this lap time) is German. So maybe the German man is to blame for claiming it was so easy...

They both went after the same goal - having the fastest car both in a straight line and around a track for a good price. Each company went about it a different way. The ZR1 has carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber panels for weight savings, and many other goodies that the Viper does not. If you truly want to make it "fair", let the ZR1 add an aero kit. But take the cost of that aero kit, add that with the extra $20k for the ZR1, and then allow the Viper to add goodies worth that amount to the ACR so you have two truly equal cars. IMHO the Viper will still beat the shit out of the ZR1. Especially if you are running multiple laps and the vette begins to heat soak thanks to its blower.
Your other points are pretty good, but this is a terrible comparison. You forget that the point of the ZR1 is to be extremely fast on a track for cheap(like the ACR) but be comfortable and be a good daily driver. The ACR is not a great commuter or street car. The ZR1 is a great street and track car while the ACR is a better track car. Both have their purpose and both accomplish it amazingly.
