Any still shots that show what tires they used?

FYI, the red one pictured is an ACR-X. The black one is an ACR.

The ACR uses Pilot Sport Cups.

I have no doubt the LF-A, Viper ACR and other cars all ran those times. I want to know if they are making these times in a truly stock car with the tires that come with it on the dealer showroom floor.

When the Viper was run for the 7:22 it was run by a driver who was unfamiliar with the car, and they only ran a few laps for the record. There was no extensive practice sessions.

Same goes with the new record. Those are the only 2 times dodge has sent an ACR to the ring. Nissan, Porsche, and Lexus on the other hand have been back and forth at the ring for years with their flagships. Nissan even commented about their car being designed at the ring. They easily have 100s of laps on it with drivers familiar with the car and very familiar with the track. That is a HUGE advantage. It's no secret.

And I've heard a lot of people cry about the Viper's tires or it's aero kit. My answer to them is so what? The ZR1 cost at least $20k more than the Viper. They both went after the same goal - having the fastest car both in a straight line and around a track for a good price. Each company went about it a different way. The ZR1 has carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber panels for weight savings, and many other goodies that the Viper does not. If you truly want to make it "fair", let the ZR1 add an aero kit. But take the cost of that aero kit, add that with the extra $20k for the ZR1, and then allow the Viper to add goodies worth that amount to the ACR so you have two truly equal cars. IMHO the Viper will still beat the shit out of the ZR1. Especially if you are running multiple laps and the vette begins to heat soak thanks to its blower.

And I am tired of listening to people wine about no extensive practice sessions. NO ONE runs a low 7 minute lap on the ring without knowing that track. PERIOD

Very very impressive, I've never thouigh this good'ol' viper could ever do this. In my mind it was a raw monster that go berserk on the driver when it sees a curve!

They're really not that difficult to drive, just intimidating. The huge amount of lateral grip requires quite a lot of confidence on the part of the driver to believe it'll stick the way it does, but, it does.

I wonder who piloted this impressive time.
