Introducing the Camaro ZL1

Thanks to Chevrolet Canada's Youtube page we have this video to share of the new ZL1 Camaro. The Camaro ZL1 was recently introduced at the Camaro Homecoming Event in Oshawa. In this video Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser takes you on a full tour of the vehicle.

I shouldn't be, but am surprised by the number of Camaro owners that do not know their car is Australian.

 

It's still made by GM.

His british accent is easy to hide since he is from flint michigan.

I don't really think most camaro owners care what was does by Holden in australia. Holden has been a subsidiary of GM since the early 30's. also since GM came out with the zeta platform to replace the outgoing aussie v body plus knowing they were going to use the zeta platform (which is a very flexible platform allowing for differences in wheelbase, ride height, windsheild rake and roofline) it made perfect sense to final engineer it at what is considered to be the GM global center of rear wheel drive development. In this age in the automotive world things are done any and everywhere!

 

Not british, I think Canadians say Zed rather than Zee as well.

 

My Zed comment was a joke. I'm so used to hearing Zed R1, Zed 06, 350 Zed, etc. on Top Gear.

 

Wonder if they'll offer nav in this model?

Cool concept, glad to see them in the game. Even though the SS is a hell of a bang for the buck I am not a Camaro fan due to the driving position/poor visibility
