I'm excited to see what this comes out to be. It was supposed to be a track model, like a Boss 302, not pure hp like the GT500, but it still is going to have over 550hp. Could it have similar to Boss handling with GT500 power? And it is going to have magnetorheological shocks so it will be great on track and street. This think could be epic. We'll just have to see.

ZL1 = Huge engine in near standard body. Originally purpose built in 1969 as a drag racer.
Z28 = Track tuned everything with lower weight.

This is emphasized in this car. No weight reduction. If Chevrolet builds a Z28 it would probably use the LS3 while reducing a ton of weight.

This car is sooooo badass it's ridiculous.

Maybe I got it mixed up, but I though I remembered Chevy saying this ZL1 was more track oriented than drag oriented. Or that is why they switched to ZL1 as opposed to Z28. Now I can't remember. Either way, 550+hp and magneto shocks is going to be awesome.

I read that it will have over 570HP and closer to 585. Holy CRAP! Plus with the bigger tires, lower stance, and Magnetic Ride Control, this car will be one hell of a drivers car! I'm sure the grip will be insane, not ZO6 insane but still insane.

I wouldn't doubt that much power. It could have anywhere from the Cadillac CTS-V's 556hp or the ZR1's 638hp. Although I doubt it will match the ZR1 right away, but a couple mods and it will! The Magnetic Ride Control should easily make it the fastest muscle car on public/canyon roads. It is going to have the PTM, which I read in a magazine they like it better than Ferrari's launch control.
Yes, it is going to be insane. Probably the fastest sub $60,000 car.

I am liking it, now that I have a better look at it. I've seen a prototype in person, but it was wrapped in the camo vinyl. Love the vents below the grille, and the vents on the hood make it look a lot meaner.

I hope the car does well. The Corvette ZR1 was successful in popularity, but not very well in the showroom. I heard that the ZR1s were piling up in the used car lots, and I hope that doesn't happen again with this car.

Great find DJ, thanks!

Chris

ZR1's sold well in different regions. You can't find one in Southern California. Las Vegas, I believe, had one for sale that sat on the lot.

Totally riced out IMO with a motor swap. I'd rather build one my own way than buy this thing.
