Mosler MT900S
#64
We finally had a nice warm weekend in the UK. First one in I can't remember how long. Saturday ended up as Mosler day and Sunday became F40 day. Despite the extended rest, the Mosler fired right up with the first turn of the key and settled into a calm idle. This was the first time this year where the road surface had some heat in it, with no accompying worry about ice or water. We were able to get the tyres warmed fairly quickly and the difference in grip was quite noticeable. As soon as the engine was properly warmed, we headed for a few lightly trafficked back country roads. Once there, I took the opportunity to open it up and give the car a good run. When allowed, it just flies. The combination of low weight and a big V8 works beautifully. Throw in great steering plus huge brakes and the Mosler is a very accomplished drivers car.
As a reward for a great drive (we did about 50 miles), the Mosler got a nice bath before being put away until next weekend.

The Mosler will only go if another deal happens. At this point it is unlikely.

Weather yesterday was brilliant here so took the Mosler out of a good late afternoon run after the roads had cleared a bit. As usual the MT900S started right up and warmed up nicely. Headed off to a slightly different route today. As this one is a bit more twisty, it provides a great place to enjoy the razor shape handling and power delivery. The combination of fly weight CF tub, big grunty V8, great steering make the Mosler a great car to power around the curvy stuff. A bit of middle pedal, drop a gear, turn in, hold the throttle, wait for the corner to open, and then more right foot and the Mosler will just swing and power right out of the corner beautifully. It really is a car that inspires great confidence. 45 minutes of this and sadly it was time to head home.
Weather report for Sunday is equally as good. The F40s turn comes next.

I have to be honest , I am not really a fan of the design of the Mosler but reading your driving experiences , the handling has to be unique. Form follows function I guess. Why are you getting rid of it if you allow me to ask.

I have owned it for a few years now and really enjoyed it but time for something new (possibly also made out of Carbonfiber with a bit more than 600 bhp).
