I'm going to be the odd man out and say that I'd take the Mustang, especially for the price. If both cars cost the same, then I'd maybe consider the M3 more but as it stands, the Mustang is the one for me.

Mustang wins for sure considering the price difference. If you're going to spend that much money on an M3, might as well spend a little more to buy a GTR which destroys the M3 all day.

^^^Totally agree with The Doctor

And the aftermarket potential for the GT = WIN

Shortblocks, twin/single turbo kits, twinscrew and centri supercharger setups, etc etc are already on the way

Exactly. Stock for stock, they're equal. Throw the extra $25K into the Mustang with mods (S/C kit, headers, tune, coilovers, sway bars, wheels, and tires) and you'll have something that can compete against the best of the best with money to spare compared to the M3.

For things like interior quality, the M3 takes the cake but I can't imagine the new Mustang being too far behind.

I'll see all you Mustang owners out of the track?

Oh and having driven a Mustang rental car all last weekend, I have to say that it has one of the most uncomfortable headrests I've encountered

,

I like the car but I am not in the market for one, I drove my friends 2010 Shelby the other day and I was impressed thats it. I have a new fond of respect for the Mustang, its a good car.
