"Spy photographers got a look today at GM's newest, highly anticipated performance car: The 2012 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Visually, we see a blacked-out grill, a larger hood-bulge, a blacked-out badge far too long to say Z28 that could read "Supercharged", wider, ultra performance summer tires-- we're guessing that with the success of the Pilot Sport PS2 tires, they're sticking with Michelin here-- and revised exhaust.

From interior photos we can see that this model is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and an automatic transmission. That's enough proof for us that this is the LSA motor that makes 556-horsepower when nestled in the Cadillac CTS-V."

This is going to be one hell of a car for the money. Great competition for the Shelby GT500.

 

I was talking to my local Chevy dealer about two weeks ago and he said that they recieved a letter from Chevy saying that, sadly, Z/28 development is on hold for right now. This would be such a bad ass machine.

 

A lightened body on the FBody with an LS9 powerplant, ZR1 brakes, and Z06 suspension would be insane.

 

They've been "flip flopping" like that for the past year... sick car though.
