It Fits! Hennessey successfully shoves ZR1 LS9 into Camaro
#1
Hennessey Performance has successfully completed the most crucial step in developing its ZR1-powered HPE700: Getting the Corvette ZR1's LS9 motor to fit in the engine bay of the new Camaro. John Hennessey just sent over these images that show the before and after, and from the look of things, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 fits nicely.
The engine cover that's visible through a polycarbonate window on the Corvette ZR1 lines up nicely against the Camaro's firewall and it appears there's still some room left in front of the engine. While the LS9 normally produces 638 hp in the ZR1, as its name suggests, the Hennessey HPE700 will be shooting for over 700 horsepower. Only 24 examples will be produced and Hennessey has already sold 11.

While I would never use him, for one there are better options out there. I easily see how he gets clients in the door....he does build solid products.

you know, i wondered the same for years. But it really seems he has turned things around. The auto industry is full of crooks....even great establishments get caught up in trouble and the good ones fix the problems and move on. I know John still has people he burned....but I haven't heard of a new one in a LONG LONG time.

I have never seen an industry (aftermarket tuning) that was plagued by so many crooks and thieves and quite frankly he is the King.

The LS9 can be purchased as a crate motor for around $25k which is an unbelievable deal for a motor that is that powerful, reliable and sorted. I can think of numerous applications for one. I am really wanting to do a pro-touring 69 Camaro vert with a LS9.
