Pratt & Miller Headquarters - New Hudson, MI - Noted car collector and performance enthusiast Ken Lingenfelter was the center of attention when he took delivery of his black Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS supercar on August 26. The entire staff of Pratt & Miller Engineering turned out for the event, along with Corvette Racing drivers Ron Fellows and Jan Magnussen.

Lingenfelter's extensive collection includes nearly 40 classic and exotic Corvettes. His Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS coupe is chassis number 004.

"Everyone at Pratt & Miller contributed in their own way to the creation of the Corvette C6RS supercar for the street, so we included everyone in the celebration when we delivered Ken's car," said Gary Pratt after hosting a lunch for the entire staff. "We use all of the resources of Pratt & Miller, from engineering and design to fabrication and assembly, in the Corvette C6RS program. We wanted to thank every member of our team for their effort."

Fellows and Magnussen were on hand as the race team made final preparations for the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. The drivers were hosting members of the media on a tour of the Pratt & Miller facility when they presented the keys to Lingenfelter.

Silvia Mammone, Manager for Motorsports, Michelin North America, presented Pratt with a special Michelin tire with the C6RS logo carved in the tread.

"Michelin has been a great technical partner for the Corvette Racing team and for the Corvette C6RS program," said Pratt. "We couldn't have achieved our goals on the race track and on the street without them."

NEW HUDSON, Mich. – The Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS confirmed its standing as one of the world's fastest supercars when Ron Fellows drove a street-legal C6RS to a two-way average speed of 202 mph in a test at the Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport on Sept. 4, 2008. The Canadian ace piloted the limited edition Pratt & Miller C6RS to 201 mph on the runway of the decommissioned United States Air Force based near Oscoda Township, Mich., and then hit 203 mph on his return run.

"I was very impressed with how stable the C6RS was at 200 mph," Fellows said. "In fact, the car didn't feel much different at 200 mph than it did at 160. I haven't driven that fast since I raced at Daytona years ago. The Pratt & Miller crew was really excited to see their Corvette C6RS go 200 mph in full street trim. It was good fun!"

Pratt & Miller Engineering designed and developed the limited edition Corvette C6RS to provide an exceptional level of performance and refinement for enthusiasts. "According to our computer simulations and dyno tests, the Corvette C6RS was capable of running 200 mph, but we still wanted to prove its performance with a real-world top-speed test," said Gary Pratt, co-founder of Pratt & Miller Engineering. "Our engine development partners at Katech Performance fine tuned the engine calibration, Ron put his foot down on the throttle, and the result was a 202 mph average speed in the same configuration that you can drive on the street.

"The 2.5-mile straightaway at Oscoda is ideal for high-speed tests," Pratt said. "It's smooth and perfectly flat, but it doesn't take long to go from one end to the other at 200 mph. With our in-house development program and the resources of our technical partners, we are continuing to expand the envelope of performance and luxury with the C6RS."
