2011 Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio
The kind folks at Ferrari.com reveal today the video from the first edition of the Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio, in 2011. The event with dozens of cars from Ferrari was held in some of the most spectacular places in Sicily between Catania and Palermo. I spot a few Teamspeed.com members in this video, including "Trax" in his stunning White with Blue Livery 599 GTO!
"The atmosphere in Palermo, the moment the cars’ parade arrived at the stage in front of the Politeama theatre, was full of the participants’ satisfaction and enthusiasm. The Tribute Ferrari to Targa Florio ended after three days of racing in Sicily’s capital.
The last stages were especially beautiful: the Etna with the special stages amongst the lava, the Nebrodi hills with spectacular forests, the coast towards Palermo passing Cefalù and the legendary Piccole Madonie circuit arriving in Collesano. Places enhancing the passion of those behind the wheel and the Prancing Horse.

The race rhythm was intense, but gave the participants the possibility to discover Sicily with its immense beauty of nature, history and culture.
Regarding the motorsport results Gino Verghini and his copilot Lamberto Fusi won the Ferrari Tribute for modern cars with a 512 TR, and Carlos Augusto Lopez and his copilot Maria Eugenia Prieto won the category for historical cars with a 250 GT Cabriolet.
The Ferrari Tribute was mainly an occasion filled with passion, shared during the special stages, mastered with innovative technology or just a stopwatch in one’s hand, followed by relaxing moments with the breathtaking views of a spectacular scenery."
