What year 355
#2
I have always been fascinated with the 355's, its a terrific Ferrari you must get one.
1995 is first year of production and classified as a 2.7,because it is the reference to the engine management system version which originally started out as 2.7 and was later upgraded to 5.2 (1996-1999 models).
The 2.7 cars are recognizable by looking at the airbox setup. If you see two airboxes with separate inlet pipes, then you are looking at a 2.7 car. If you see a single inlet pipe, with the pipes from the two airboxes joining onto it, then you are looking at a 5.2 car (1996-1999).
The 2.7 car has two seperate MAF's- one for each bank of the engine, whereas the 5.2 car has only one - which is why the two airboxes feed into the same inlet pipe.
I would personally try to find the newest model and do a PPI.
Rare options are the Sport Bucket seats, Fiorano Pack.

Wow, I just noticed the little girl standing next to the car in the third picture. Freaked me right out when I noticed her reflection in the wing mirror while zoomed in inspecting the interior.

lol. i am sure it's more than 1k a year. 1k a year is like entry level bmw(s) and benz(s). I would think it's closer to 5k for the 355s. I am only guessing. BTW, the 355s are amazing cars. They were classics from day one. So timeless and beautiful. Good luck Steven.

I've been looking for some time. I have one I want but he is 15k high.
355's are very very very maintenance sensitive.
Good ones are fun to drive but not near a 360 in reliability and high end top speed.
Here are my bullit points
A) go to f chat and read every thread about maintaining these beasts there is
B) see A
3) see A
D) make sure you understand possible 20k problems if the car hasn't been maintained properly. Remember there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Ferrari. QFT
E) make sure the car you buy has been serviced with history from someone that actually knows what they are doing
F) assume 4k a year for problems.
7) cats and headers should have been updated on any car you pick. Very large issue
H) see A
I) I like 95's 6 speed for hardtop or gts ( my favorite ) or Fiorano addition 99' for spider. These are rare both and command premiums. Some Fiorano cost more than 360 spiders
95's are better runners are the rumors. All sound amazing.
J) drive one first. You might not be impressed.
K) see A. It is a Mecca of information and you will read tons of horrid high dollar reasons of what can or will go wrong
