When Ferruccio went to Ferrari, Enzo said something like "you know nothing about building a sports car - stick to tractors!" And Ferruccio went out and built the company!

Most of those who knew him agree that Enzo was a cold and monomaniacal person.
His family life is the best evidence. He kept two families for most of his life and when his mother died he moved his mistress and their children into his home with his wife.
Also, he was not a great businessman. His desire to win tempted him to cut corners on safety which resulted in many driver deaths. This turned the Italian public against him and the marque. In the end, he almost totally ignored the Ferrari road car division and ended up losing the company to his hated rival - Fiat.
His persona was larger than life as were his accomplishments. History favors the bold and Enzo was definitely that. But - as a person - he appears to have lacked character.

Bo, if anything that is a reason to hate Enzo. No reason to hate Lamborghini for trying to make a better car for the people...

- One of the cars that Enzo Ferrari had in his lifetime was a mini cooper.
- When Pininfarina was asked what was some of the most beautiful cars in his opinion, other than his ofcourse lol, was the Jaguar e-type.
- When Enzo was asked which is his favorite ferrari, he would always say, "the next one!"
I saw it on an old Jeremy Clarkson Motorworld episode I think. Hope you don't mind me adding my two cents.
