Random thought- Why buy a Ferrari without fender shields?
This has always bothered me and I wanted to ask you all and see if you shared the same opinion-
Is there anyone out there that prefers a Ferrari without fender shields? Every time I see a Ferrari without them I always wonder what the owner was thinking... I guess maybe it's like de-badging a car, or maybe trying to be modest? but come on, it's a Ferrari. Certainly it can't be the additional cost for the option, can it?
What do you guys think? I'm really interested to hear from those that prefer no-shields.

Always preferred them as well so I'm not exactly sure. One thing that I find interesting though is that they are really the only marque that can pull it off. A Porsche definitely couldn't and Lambos come close but not quite there...

I didn't even know you could order them without the shields.
On a side note I saw a late 90's red civic on the way home from work on Friday with the yellow Ferrari shields on the front fenders. I about fell over laughing but couldn't get my camera out fast enough. The MA plates said 'VTEC', lol.

actually, until the late 1990's, tradition was that only cars that are built specifically to be raced by Ferrari (or in a Ferrari-sanctioned event like the challenge series) could carry the shields... then Ferrari opened the door for customers to pay to add the shield. nowadays, I think most new cars carry them (as a paid option).

To put the Ferrari shields on, the owner of that Civic probably had to take the "Powered by Honda" stickers off.......
