My brother is very well-off. He drives a Camry and the soles of his shoes have holes in them. But he spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on travel with his family.
I have been on a plane less than 5 times in the past 20 years.

It just seems strange to pay a premium for a product that is - at least based on my understanding - technically inferior to an iPhone 4/BlackBerry. The high purchase price goes to exclusivity, the concierge service, and bling materials rather than tech.

Is it made with any special type of materials? Does it get service anywhere and everywhere, is it bulletproof, waterproof, does it have fingerprint recognition? Any special cool options that come with the 7,800 dollar sticker?

If you look on their website, you will find a series of small videos , where they test each type of phone. The prices are so high because of the rare and expensive materials used, like silver, titanium, cristal, rubines, and diamons of carbon fiber. Basically , it is the luxury division of Nokia.
Also, they make them in limited editions, so if you want exclusivity, you have a range to choose from.
