I am debating whether or not to take my H/T setup with me. Below are what is included, please note the Surround processor alone was nearly as much as my price, all of the cables cost in excess of $500.

I bought most of this from Sound by Singer in NYC. If you aren't familiar with JM Lab, they make some of the finest speakers in the world. I will not under any circumstances ship any of this so please don't even bother asking. I am also not interested in parting it out unless you find someone else who will take the other equipment you don't want. This includes every wire, cable and component you will need (beside dvd player) to plug it right into the wall and start enjoying it.

Price is $3,000 firm. Pickup only in Manhattan.

Thanks Darren. I spent a good amount of time picking out speakers and components, listening to almost everything out there. My next setup will be all Wilson, otherwise I think JM Lab makes some of the best stuff out there under $10k.

Out of curiosity, why won't you ship?

 

Too much of a hassle. Between the cost and the possibility of something getting jostled during shipping and then not finding out until a couple months later it's just not worth it.

These are ballpark retail numbers, so +/- 100 or so:

3,000 - processor
1,500 - amp
2,000 - fronts
800 - center
600 - surrounds
500 - Synergistic cables
100 - Monster cable
400 - Monster power center
30 - Blue jeans

So ~$9,000.

More important then cost is how you pair speakers/electronics and choosing good brands. There is no speaker company in the world under $10k for a pair of fronts I like more then JM Lab, and they sound fantastic with B&K electronics (which is a NY based company with excellent customer service). I would pit these against any comparable B&W speaker out there.
