Hey everyone. A good friend of mine Paul Immo organizes a Mopar show every year (Moparpalooza). Well, this year he was able to convince SRT CEO Ralph Gilles to attend and even more interestingly, he is bringing the 2013 Viper!!! If you are interested in checking out the car, you should stop by. I think it says a lot about the kind of company SRT is...they are bringing out the big guns for this little local show.

Hey, did anyone else make it out to this? It was an awesome day. Ralph hung around the whole day answering questions and signing cars. Apparently, he drove the new Dart from Detroit the day before and drove it back to Detroit after the show, because he enjoys "a good road trip." FYI - there is only ONE viper show car so the fact that they brought it out was quite an achievement. Credit to Fair Oaks Dodge who paid something like 18k dollars to ship the car. It was an amazing day, especially for a Viper owner. Even though it was a Mopar show, the spectator parking was a mini show all in itself.

yeah I feel like a sh*t for completely failing to post this on TS. Leading up to the event, I had to be hush hush about the Viper until Ralph announced it on the radio on Sat. I was at Katie's, but I had another friend listen to the broadcast and as soon as he said it I started telling everyone. So that really only gave me a day to get the message out and as hard as I tried, I didnt remember TS until that morning.

I'm glad to see that some news outlets picked up the story. I think it's pretty incredible for an auto exec to go out of his way like that without trying to turn it into some big publicity stunt.

Car begs for stripes.

 

I kinda agree. So few cars can justify stripes, it's a shame when they pass up the chance. HOWEVER, I asked my friend Austin to PS a black one (I sold my '08 Viper and looking to get either a black ACR or a black 2013) and this is what he came up with....

 

I think it would be color dependent. That black looks great without the stripes.
