This is the New McLaren P1 Supercar

I'm not picking sides, I'm talking from personal experience. Erik is a long time TS member and I've chatted with Erik a few times and he has been nothing but nice and respectful to all my questions and comments.

The P1 teases are awesome but create a potentially big problem for me. My expectations are so off the charts that if this beast doesn't rip up the Tarmac and lay waste to the field of competitors I will be sad.
The aero work on this car is so far ahead of anything else on the road it is hard to believe it won't suck itself to the road and put down some mind blowing lap times.
I know one person with a deposit and I hope to The Lord he goes through with it!

The problem for Alex Tang is more than just thin skin - he desperately craves attention and he seems to think that everyone else is also out for fame and whatever in all of this. That couldn't be further from the truth with me so his comments suggesting that are sadly laughable. Some of us are just enthusiasts sharing our knowledge and passion. He'll claim to be doing the same and that this persecution is unjust, but for those of us who have gotten to know him, his true colors have shown through.
Clearly he seems hell bent on making a name for himself by gathering up every photo, link or shred of news about the P1 and re-broadcasting it on several forums - something any idiot could do - all in an effort to get himself attention. When he has an original thought to share it is typically something wacky like "the P1's 9-speed transmission" that he came up with after seeing the image of the P1's dash which registered to 9 - as in 9,000 RPMs.
This recent dust up stems from him sharing my photos on his Facebook wall without supplying any credit, despite being asked to do so repeatedly. That's got nothing to do with getting me attention - I request the link so if someone sees one image and happens to like it there is a trackback to view the rest of them. I also think it's generally considered a respectable thing to do if you know the photographer of an image, especially if you consider them a friend, right?
After several attempts at being nice about it I finally mandated he supply the credit or take the image down. In response he deleted me as a friend and then chose to go on a tirade on Facebook similar to the one you've all seen here. Another friend of mine saw it and alerted me to it. Then when I responded to set the record straight he deleted the entire post from his wall or blocked me.
I'm hardly upset that he no longer considers me a friend - I only wish I'd realized his intentions behind being my friend so much sooner. I've tried to be nice and tried to educate Alex via continuous chats and messages for several years now, but I'm through with him. Be glad the rest of you have been warned before you have wasted as much time on Alex as I did.
No one is really talking about that right now. It sounds like McLaren intend to do a refresh of the 12C first - or perhaps make a performance version (Scud-like, if you will) before diving into the lower end model.

So I suppose that Mr. Erik Reynolds and his political allies are the only ones allowed to post and share McLaren content of any kind from now on. If anyone else does, it's branded as stealing and / or seeking fame and attention - in spite of what he earlier said in his 'Lurkers, Leeches and Lesbians Perhaps?' thread and other personal advice he gave me when he wasn't this combative.
I'll keep that in mind from now on.

Everything changed the day and minute that someone made a joking comment on one of his Facebook posts which I commented on, that he now had a competitor (referring to me). He didn't like that one bit, in fact it's probably safe to assume that that's the day he started hating me. That day I went from being 'friend' to 'priority target' in his book.
This isn't the first time we've argued over things that he doesn't seem to find issue with when everyone else does them. We had a brief reconciliation, but clearly it wasn't worth the effort as the relationship had already been changed and strained.
Without wanting to point fingers or name names, I've seen plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of other people post McLaren photos, info etc. all over the place without giving a shred of credit to people or sources where it came from. I've never seen him so much as say even a word against them - so it's hard for me not to think that he has a personal bone to pick with me, especially when all this is coming from someone who I once thought of as a friend, and thought I could trust.
Disappointed isn't even the half of it - but I guess people really do change and that's just life.
