Entry-Level McLaren

I think it can command 10-15% more than a comparable 911. Any more and it's not much of a competitor, and may be forced to compete with more exotic cars

I agree, but they have to watch out with pushing that 180 marker...thats way too 2010 daytona/2008 Scuderia market for me to feel good.

Indeed. Whatever they end up doing, I'm hoping it will be affordable enough to sell like crazy, generate sufficient profits, etc., so that they can continue building insane cars such as the F1-successor.

I hope all the F1 tech doesn't make it easy for poseurs to drive. It's not uncommon for me to see several Ferraris and Lambos daily in Atlanta, although I've only seen one MP4-12C thus far. I really hope that McLaren can use its lack of road car history (apart from the F1, which laypeople don't know very well) as a tabula rasa and become the "non-stigmatized" enthusiast car of choice. This could be an excellent opportunity for McLaren to capture the (moneyed) enthusiast market, and fill the niche that Porsche and Ferrari no longer do (and which Lamborghini never did).
