Anyway to answer the question, flat out, if you want the best DAILY driving supercar, the McLaren is it. Done. Ive had a 458, had the RS 4.0, been lucky to have a lot of things, this car to me is the most comfortable car to drive everyday. It has quirks about it, as do all cars, but its incredibly comfortable and fun. I must say there are things that bother me, the shifts arent nearly as good as a 458, the traction control is fantastic, but hard to turn it all off as there are always some errors of some sort. However it is FAST as hell. Way faster than a 458. I had a twin turbo 458 and my dad has a yellow stock 458, so Ive driven it both ways and the Mc is way faster. I think the turbo lag is very noticeable which I was surprised about, but that makes it kind of fun. I love the wastegate popping off, love the interior, the steering wheel just kicks ass. People say the car is over complicated, like driving a computer, but the steering wheel and interior feel is just the opposite. The steering wheel has nothing but carbon fiber and paddles! I love that.

The Iris system in the car sucks currently, forget the radio, its non existent. The NAV and bluetooth dont work just yet, but I hear a fix is coming.

Overall I must tell you all that I love this car, absolutely love it. I am 6'2" and its not the easiest thing to get in and out of, but I dont mind. My girlfriend prefers the Carrera GT, but who wouldn't! I would suggest this car to anyone who actually drives their cars. Yes its not as flashy as a 458 or some other things, especially in black, but that kind of adds to the badassness of this car. Its something you can truly enjoy. I must say I just havent read a review of this car I actually agree with, this car is far more capable than any journalist in this world, and thats why they dont like it
Great review,as regards the gear change, when you get used to the pre-cog imo its better than anything on the market, mainly because it forces you to think about your gearchange, just like in a manual car,use it like you would a rifle, when you know you are about to change up put pressure on it (wait) and squeeze like a trigger, then the change becomes seemless and far better than the on /off switchs that other car have.As i say it makes you think about your next move, and this is what gives the car the feeling of being at one with it that the journos missed.

If you get it out on a road course let us know what you think about the brake steer. To me, it is tons o' fun.

The problem with turning off the traction control is that you have to do it while the car is stopped and it takes 30 seconds. Not helpful when you feel the urge to hang the rear end out impulsively.

Thanks for the review, Graham. I've been interested in one for awhile now so I may have to go check it out. I'm 6'2" as well so it's good to know it may be difficult to get in and out of.

Any options you wish the car you bought had come with, or ones you feel you could have done without?

Cheers,
Trey

The only thing I want, is McLaren Orange! Thats it. I actually just walked back in the house from driving it, and I love this thing. But to me, McLaren will always be the original orange from back in the Bruce McLaren Can-Am days. Thats the only thing i wish it was. However for those who dont like Orange, I am telling you the black looks insanely cool on this car. Black normally is my least favorite color, to the point I have never owned a black car. It does look very good though.

+1 ^
I have had mine for maybe 8 months now and personally i would not pick any current Porsche (including Ruf's) over it for the best and fastest drive on motorways and b roads, precoging is essential and Bob's your uncle, nothing faster or better breaking from high speed and still being of manageable size and semi descret appearance.
Btw,congrats
