An 800hp engine is going to require more air than a 600hp engine, therefore to get the best performance the exhaust system will have to be enlarged to flow that extra air. Same goes for the headers. They probably chose titanium for the cost savings.

We can build the exhaust out of either titanium or inconel and have not made a final decision for our MP4-12C system as of yet. We use inconel on our Venom GT exhaust system. Given the interest and response, we may as well use the same material for our 12C program. Thanks for the comments and feedback.

AFAIK only the lightweight sport exhaust is made from inconel, the regular is ss.
