They are all prototypes at this point. The earliest ones were labeled XP's just like with the F1. The ones that look for the most part like full production cars are being called VP's for "Validation Prototype". The original plan called for them to build 20 VP's, in part to allow overall systems testing, but also to help finalize the production process.
