The orange car in Bahrain is a GTR actually (#08R), one of 5 GTRs that we know of which have been reprayed in Papaya Orange giving it the look of the F1 LM. See the sticky at the top of this forum and this thread by GrayTT for more pictures...

Frank sold the LM in December 2004 to Ralph Lauren for a sum in the neighborhood of $4M. At the time I heard he had sold it because he was going to explore other interests with his money, but I've never asked him directly for a reason or seen him explain why.
I know for most of us who don't have the money for a possession like the F1 the tendency is to think that if we got one we'd never ever sell it, but it's a little different when you can afford toys like that. Sometimes you just want to try different things and hope you don't end up regretting selling one for the next best thing.

Additional coverage of the event at the MTC appears in the July issue of EVO Magazine. Here's some preview scans courtesy of microsup - to truly enjoy this one you're going to have to shell out the $$.

These are just 6 pages out of a total of nearly 50 that EVO devotes to the McLaren F1 in their July issue. It will definitely be a magazine worth owning!
I'll be posting the rest of the pages in the "McLaren" thread.
