Rare Race-Spec McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail Found on Sale
#24
The orange longtail, #27R, is a good buy at the price, but you will have to bear in mind that it hasnt been used hardly ever in last last few years. All the 'lifed' items will need to be replaced, and it may take more than £200k just to bring it up to a useable but not 100% spec. £1.2m+ for this car doesn't make it that good a deal, especially as an F1 owner contacted me today and said that GTR's aren't as good a buy as road cars, and this GTR, not being able to be converted to road spec, makes it a track day toy, and there can't be too many people who will see the epic performance near the limit in this on a track day. There are only a [small] handful of race series that the car can go in to as well, so an expensive thing of beauty that will just sit around and -maybe- be used on the odd occasion on a closed circuit / limited race series.
Lovely car though, I've seen it a few times in the showroom and had the opportunity to have a look inside. AWESOME, despite the fact it's never been in a decent place to allow 'good' angled shots
