The Official McLaren F1 Thread
#241
I believe the final number was 21.
I too am looking forward to several more photos but I am not encouraged on what we might actually get. So far the three Greg has shared are all that have come out publicly.
This event was a preview of the MP4-12C for F1 owners and so you won't find that there were many individuals in attendance who would have been there for the sole purpose of wielding a camera for the amazing shots.

Yes, you can be sure that McLaren had someone there taking pictures, but whether those images make it into the public domain or not is a different story and I'll just say that I hope to be pleasantly surprised about that.

Excellent photos of chassis #065! Thanks!
Let me true up a bit of your story though. The car left Singapore in mid-2008 to be auctioned in the UK by RM Auctions in October of that year. It set a record for the price that was paid of roughly 2.5M £ or $4M US dollars including premium. The buyer at the auction was an American and the car is now located in his collection in Houston, TX.
You can enjoy a video of the bidding for the car here on YouTube:

Will do. ![Smile](https://teamspeed.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Do you happen to have photos of the other two McLaren F1s in Singapore? One of them left for New Zealand in early 2008, but the red one is still there in storage at Malayan Motors.

The car was actually not red, but rather a metallic orange.
The owner you are referring to was Dan Kennedy of Scottsdale, AZ. He sold the car in early 2005 and it has had at least three owners since. One in Texas briefly, then one in Atlanta for a bit longer and then it landed in the New England area where I believe it has been ever since.
The one instance when it has been seen publicly was when it was displayed at the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance on Sept 17th, 2007 in West Port, CT where it won the "Best In Class - 1976-2007" award. Here are a trio of photos from that event:
One thing that is quite interesting is that this car has passed through several different hands with each owner so far making the choice to leave it in its current look. It was originally silver, but Dan spent about $300,000 having the factory repaint it and add several interesting options to the car to suit his personal tastes. This old ad out of the duPont Registry from Dec 2002 when Dan first tried selling the car outlines all that was done to it:
