Exactly - it's a completely different shape to the headlamp lens adn upper cover - compare these two shots:

What we presume to be #059 is the only F1 with these unique "eyes".

Also, what is behind that set of lenses is unique as well.

Note that the HID projector lamp is located in the outer position on this car, and then inner position is occupied by a strange rectangular lamp for the high beams. Typically F1s which have been fitted with HIDs have the standard large round lamp on the outside, and it is the inner lamp that gets replaced with the HID projector. Here's an example of the standard F1 headlights on #047, and then the typical converted HID setup on chassis #036, off and on.

What a fantastic shot!

Have you got any of those in hi-res?

That's the largest version shared so far that I have seen. You can always try to contact Spyder through the website listed in the watermark. There are a few other shots of #036, as well as some nice ones of #011, and a few other F1s in the gallery over there.

Wow Peloton, thanks for the lesson on F1 headlights! Is there any reason you can think of for why #059 is the only F1 that has those headlights?

I'm sure it was just a special request from the owner. Something to differentiate his F1 from the rest.

Yes - I would agree. While we have yet to confirm the owner of this car (or the chassis number) I think this car has a close connection to McLaren. Perhaps it is one of Mansour's or Ron's personal cars. It was utilized in an issue of McLaren's "Racing Line" magazine in comparison to the original McLaren road car, the M6 GT once as well. There's a set of photos taken in Monaco of it, prior to being fitted with the High Downforce Kit, and you can see that it had these unique lights originally.

I quite like this shot of #036 as well - the size comparison with an F430 is quite striking for anyone who's never seen the F1 to know just how small it is.

^^^ Yes, the Macca F1 really is quite petite. That being said, it looks absolutely massive with the doors open. Similar to when I cobra flattens its throat to appear bigger before striking, imo.
