Pininfarina Cambiano revealed ahead of Geneva

Pininfarina Cambiano revealed ahead of Geneva

Pininfarina's latest concept car, the Cambiano, has made its way online, ahead of its official unveiling on March 6th at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Cambiano, which translates to "changing", is a futuristic look at not only how a car is conceived, but also what materials are used.

Environmental considerations were high on the agenda for the Cambiano, meaning sustainable materials are used in its creation; for example there is fair amount of plantation wood used in the interior.

The Cambiano will also be kind on the environment. It's an electric plug-in with range extender, powered by four electric motors which make 60 kW each. A diesel-powered turbine sits up front and acts as generator when the batteries are running low.

Pininfarina says the Cambiano will max out at 170mph and will go from 0-62mph in just 4.2 seconds. Its battery will keep it going in pure electric mode for around 125 miles.

More details will become available next week.

Interesting. But it isn't a new idea. The Hyundai Veloster has the same door configuration.

I prefer the coupe side.

Maybe the Veloster's a good car but for me it's just idiotic to have 3 doors and looks horrible...Trying way too hard to be unique.
But on another note, this is a very interesting article! I've never heard of Pininininininiininfarina before.

Pininfarina does great work for Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls, and others. I thought the Mythos was extremely far ahead of it’s time for ’89. And, they certainly had their hands on the best looking Volvo in recent years (C70 Hardtop convertible). Their resume is astonishingly impressive. But, they just do such odd work in house on their own designs. This looks like a GM design study to me. Not impressed. Nice article though.
